Unity Economic Development Corporation (Unity EDC) was founded in 2002 to provide financial education to low and moderate income individuals and families.  As a HUD-Approved Local Housing Counseling Agency , and an IRS-Approved Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site,  many thousands individual and families have been provided foreclosure prevention assistance, credit and budget counseling, 1^st time Homebuyer Education, and free income tax preparation services for low income workers. 

Unfortunately, due to federal regulations, Unity EDC could not charge a fee for many of these of the services.  The organization was funded primarily through grants and donations, which has decreased tremendously the last few years.   After a series of budget cuts, staff downsizing and cutbacks, the Board of Directors voted to dissolve operations due to lack of stable funding.

This notice is to inform you that Unity EDC ceased operations as of September 30, 2019.
